Microcirculation and longevity: what happens to tissues over time
Microcirculation changes with age and affects the health of each tissue. Find out what happens at the cellular level over ...

Inflammation is a key process for survival. However, when it remains active at low intensity over time, it can become a factor in biological deterioration. This condition is known as silent chronic inflammation.
Unlike acute inflammation, it does not produce obvious symptoms. It does not cause immediate pain or easily recognisable clinical signs, but acts progressively and continuously. A considerable body of evidence indicates that this condition is involved in the main processes associated with ageing, contributing to reduced cellular efficiency and loss of adaptive capacity.
The causes are multifactorial: prolonged stress, unbalanced diet, sedentary lifestyle and environmental factors. For this reason, research is moving towards strategies capable of acting upstream of inflammatory processes, promoting the rebalancing of biological regulation mechanisms.
Understanding and addressing silent chronic inflammation means acting on one of the main drivers of ageing. This is the context for clinical approaches developed to act on biological regulation mechanisms, such as the project REAC Inside Blue Zone, which translates this knowledge into structured protocols aimed at rebalancing inflammatory processes.
